Canucks and Jets linked in potential big trade involving a former first-round pick
Tonight, a new report from Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal has connected the Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets in a potential trade involving former first-round pick Brad Lambert.
Earlier this week, Winnipeg Jets prospect Brad Lambert requested a trade after being assigned to the Manitoba Moose in the AHL.
Lambert, 21, was selected 30th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft and at the time was considered a potential steal of the draft.
However, Lambert has unfortunately struggled to break through and find a role in the Jets' high-powered offensive lineup leading to the trade request.
Tonight, a report from insider Rick Dhaliwal has suggested that the Jets could partner with the Vancouver Canucks in a trade to find Lambert a new home.

The Vancouver Canucks are continuing their desperate search for a center after the unfortunate injury suffered by Filip Chytil.
In a recent segment on Halford & Brough, Dhaliwal confirmed that Lambert is on the Canucks radar.
It remains unclear what a trade for Lambert would cost for the Canucks but with the lack of NHL opportunities and the frustration from the player he could potentially be gotten at a discount.
If the Jets are willing to part with Lambert for a lower price it would be a no-brainer trade for the Canucks who continue to want to make a playoff push and desperately need better center depth.
At the moment a deal still remains a long way out but look for the Canucks to be one of the teams working to land Lambert if Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff pulls the trigger on a deal.
