Game six of the Stanley Cup final was not without controversy, as Panthers head coach Paul Maurice went off on the referees following a Panthers goal being taken off the board. At the time, the Oilers had just made it a 2-0 lead. The Panthers thought they had responded with a goal of their own, but it was called back after the Oilers challenged for offsides. The play was razor-thin, making it difficult to tell whether or not it was even offsides based on the angles shown on TV. Maurice was understandably upset when the goal was overturned. Paul Maurice is FURIOUS after the Panthers have their goal overturned for being offside 😬

Loading from Twitter ...

Paul Maurice is LIVID following the no-goal announcement 😳

Loading from Twitter ...

The play sparked a new conversation about offsides yet again. It is starting to become a somewhat controversial rule, as reviews are consistently taking goals off the board for being offsides by incredibly small margins, often 30 seconds or more after the zone entry occurred anyways. I mean it's the right call but if someone is offsides by .00001 cm does it really make a difference in how the play that leads to the goal goes?

Loading from Twitter ...

Regardless, the Florida Panthers appear to be cooked after they dropped games four and five. Game six has not gone much better, with the team currently down 3-1 int he third period. As a result, it appears very likely that the team will force a game seven. Panthers fans have started to call out their team for seemingly forgetting how to play when it matters the most. For a franchise that has done nothing but disappoint its fan since its inception, this would be undoubtedly the worst heartbreak of them all. Just actually pathetic, what the **** happened to this team's mental toughness? Paul Maurice's legacy is on the verge of being destroyed

Loading from Twitter ...

Be sure to tune in on Monday as we will almost certainly be getting a winner-take-all game seven.
