Connor McDavid Issues Warning to Panthers for Game 4 of Stanley Cup Finals

The Edmonton Oilers arrived for their Stanley Cup Final series rematch against the Florida Panthers with all the appearance of being ready. They had taken Game 1 in overtime, and it seemed like momentum had swung in their direction.

Suddenly, everything has changed. With the double-overtime loss in Game 2 and the blowout loss of Game 3, in which they were routed 6-1, the Oilers trail the series 2-1 and are struggling to establish control.

Captain Connor McDavid is nowhere near throwing in the towel, however, despite the blowout loss.

He has the most postseason points with 31 (six goals, 25 assists) in 19 games, a dizzying pace. Nevertheless, that performance should quell his critics. McDavid warned that there is more for him and for the team waiting to be revealed.

He had 34 assists in last season's playoffs, tying an NHL record. Not easy, doing it twice, but it's he who will do it, if anyone will. He has the track record of picking up his game with the Oilers behind, and they're used to coming from behind.

Edmonton has trailed in two of its three series in this postseason and has rebounded from a series deficit nine times since 2017. They're aiming for number ten, and with McDavid captaining the ship, it doesn't feel far-fetched at all.

The journey is tough and long, but the Oilers will not go quietly into the sunset. McDavid will not go silently, and neither will the team ease up for the Stanley Cup.
