The Winnipeg Jets are preparing for their first-round playoff series against the St. Louis Blues, but today, Mark Scheifele spoke about the Battle of Ontario as well.

The Winnipeg Jets cruised through the regular season and came out on top as the number one seed in the Western Conference.
With the Stanley Cup Playoffs just one day away from beginning, the Jets had a media day where several players spoke to the media and were asked questions on all kinds of different topics.
In particular, several players were asked which other playoff series they were most interested in following during their downtime.
For the first time in over 20 years, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators will face off in the Battle of Ontario.
This heated rivalry is expected to be one of the marquee series of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and has everyone talking about the iconic history between the two teams.

Mark Scheifele Makes A Shocking Statement About The Battle Of Ontario

During his time with the media, Scheifele was asked which series he is most excited to pay attention to besides the Jets series, and of course, as a kid growing up in Kitchener, Ontario, the battle between the Sens and Leafs tops his list.
Scheifele admitted that growing up, he was a fan of the Ottawa Senators and loved Patrick Lalime's Marvin The Martian goalie attire and even had a Lalime jersey.
This answer from Scheifele was a popular one from fans, media, and players alike as the Stanley Cup Playoffs approach, fans are clamoring to see this rivalry renewed.
While there have been plenty of complaints about the Stanley Cup Playoff format this season, with the Edmonton Oilers set to play the Los Angeles Kings once again and the Florida Panthers stuck in their rivalry with the Tampa Bay Lightning, fans are singing a different tune for the Maple Leafs and Senators.
With so much hype behind the series, hopefully it will be able to live up to the hype and deliver a great set of games to follow along with.
