This evening reports have officially come out confirming that 16-year-old top junior hockey player Colin Brown has passed away after a tragic incident.

Reports earlier this week confirmed that young hockey star Colin Brown had suffered serious injuries after he was the victim of a violent crime while in a car in St. Louis.

After the incident Colin Brown was taken to the hospital and was being treated over the last several days.

Unfortunately, it was confirmed this evening by several sources that Colin Brown had succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the age of just 16.

The news sent a shockwave around the hockey community as several teams and players came together to share their condolences.

The St. Louis Blues in particular made a post honoring the life of Colin Brown and sharing their profound sadness.

Tonight the St. Louis Blues coaching staff will be wearing pins to honor Colin Brown as the Blues take on the New Jersey Devils.

The Blues also confirmed they will hold a moment of remembrance for Colin Brown before their game on Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers.

As of now the perpetrator that caused the passing of Colin Brown has not been found but there has been a recent update on the case.

According to the St. Louis Police Department, an investigation is underway in this case and new video evidence of the tragic incident is currently being reviewed.

We send our condolences and well wishes to the Brown family as they navigate such a tragic and unimaginable loss.
