NHL analyst Rob Couch of NHL Trade Rumors recently linked Sabres young goalie Devon Levi as a suitable replacement for Stuart Skinner for next season.

Top-tier goaltenders are rare enough in today's NHL, and for the Edmonton Oilers, that's a brutal reality they have to deal with.
Their squad has its eyes on next year's Stanley Cup, as they do not want to suffer a miserable 3-peat loss, but given that their number one goalie would be none other than Stuart Skinner, it's doubtful that they will be treated as favorites.

The Oilers are Missing That Special Something to get Over the Hurdle, and That's Goaltending

Their team, in the last ten years, has demonstrated that it has what it takes to come out of the Western Conference on top, but to capture that ultimate prize has always escaped their grasp, and all eyes and fingers land on Stuart Skinner.
They need to address this hurdle to avoid suffering a similar fate down the line.
NHL Trade Rumors' Rob Couch just speculated about a list of intriguing possibilities, among them Buffalo Sabres goaltender Devon Levi, age 23, who has only 39 games' worth of NHL experience.
"Those are the three that the Oilers should have their sights on as Arturs Silovs is probably not an option anymore after the Vancouver Canucks traded him to the Pittsburgh Penguins instead of a rival. But a long shot I've identified is Levi.

"He has spent the last two seasons between the NHL and AHL as the Sabres haven't been good and he hasn't found his footing in the NHL. That could be a reality once again as Alex Lyon was signed for two years. The Oilers are a much better team defensively if you actually look at stats and not opinion. He would still cost a lot and I'm not sure if the Sabres are ready to give up on him yet, but a bounce-back season by Luukkonen could change things," Rob Couch wrote.

Devon Levi flashed quality hockey last season and could be tempting for GM Stan Bowman. By acquiring Levi, the Oilers would be getting a young netminder who has high long-term potential.
