Leafs Acquire Veteran Defenseman
Yesterday the trade deadline finally got into full effect with the first ball of trades dropping. We saw defenseman like Sean Walker, Noah Hanifin, Bowen Byram all find new homes on Wednesday which definitely gave Brad Treliving some pressure to get a move done to fill in their defensive hole. They have just made a trade with the Washington Capitals.
Leafs acquire Joel Edmundson
It was announced this early morning that the Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenseman Joel Edmundson from the Washington Capitals in exchange for a 3rd round pick in 2024 (NYI) and a 2025 5th round pick.
Edmundson, played for the Leafs rivals the Montreal Canadiens back in 2021, helping them make their big Stanley Cup push.
