Jacob Trouba likely to be disciplined by the NHL after dangerous hit
This afternoon New York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba dished out a dangerous hit on Florida Panthers forward Evan Rodrigues and now could be facing suspension.
The New York Rangers and Florida Panthers continued the Eastern Conference Finals this afternoon. During the game Jacob Trouba struck up controversy once again this time with an elbow to the head of Evan Rodrigues.

The hit was originally called a 5-minute major but was reviewed and changed to a 2-minute penalty and no ejection. This change caused anger and outrage amongst fans who believe it not only deserved an ejection but a suspension.

The Florida Panthers and New York Rangers are currently tied and heading to overtime. Both Jacob Trouba and Evan Rodrigues remain in the game.
Even though the play was only called a minor penalty on the ice Jacob Trouba can still be given a suspension if the NHL deems the play worthy of it. With the clear extension of the elbow some type of punishment is likely warranted. Tomorrow will be key to learn if Jacob Trouba is offered any type of hearing by the NHL.
