A former Canucks forward who was a member of the 2011 team that reached the finals has just landed a major front-office role with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have appointed Jeff Tambellini as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations, the team announced Monday. This is the third term with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization for Tambellini.
He first joined the team as a player in the 2015-16 season, recording 29 goals and 49 points in 65 games for the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.
He was among a team that featured current Tampa Bay players Anthony Cirelli, Yanni Gourde, and Andrei Vasilevskiy during the 2015-16 season. He also came back to the organization as a scout in 2020-2022.
Tambellini is a born-and-raised Calgarian and was the Seattle Kraken's Director of Player Development in his past three seasons.
He was most recently an assistant coach with the University of Michigan, guiding the Wolverines all the way to the 2018 Frozen Four and graduating with a degree in Sports Management.

Tambellini played for three NHL teams in his career

Tambellini amassed a 242-game NHL career when the Los Angeles Kings selected him 27th overall in the 2003 NHL Draft. He spent time in the NHL with the Kings, the New York Islanders, and the Vancouver Canucks, and scored 27 goals and 63 points.
He also saw time in the AHL with the Manchester Monarchs, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Manitoba Moose, and Syracuse Crunch and scored 250 points in 241 AHL games.
Tambellini was twice named an AHL All-Star and was looked at as having a goal-scoring touch and leadership qualities.
His organizational and system expertise with the Tampa Bay Lightning and past roster-compilation work in Seattle make him blend in with Tampa Bay's front office nicely.
