Canucks' Evander Kane was jumped in Vancouver last night and he needed medical attention but appears to be doing fine, further adding to his haunted past.

Heading into this offseason, Vancouver Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin had a ton of pressure on his shoulders to make the necessary moves in terms of trades and signings in order for the dramatic filled 2024-25 season to not repeat itself.
With that in mind, Allvin made his first big splash, trading for controversial forward Evander Kane, sending a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to the Edmonton Oilers and taking on his full $5.125 million salary.
Nobody is happier about the move than Kane himself, who was born and raised in Vancouver, watching the Canucks play for as long as he could remember and being a die-hard fan.
Unfortunately for him, his introduction back to his childhood city and team was not as welcoming as he had hoped for.

Kane needed medical attention after being jumped by locals

Per the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast, it was reported that just days after being traded, Kane and a group of his friends were attacked in Vancouver, where he needed medical attention for his injuries.
Although Kane has not been one to avoid controversy, being labeled as a player that many GMs might not want in their organization, it is believed that the incident that took place was not instigated by him and was simply a senseless act.

Apparently, there will be a video will be released shortly proving that he did absolutely nothing wrong.
Knowing Kane's past and the amount of scrutiny he has always been under, it would not be a good look at all for this said video to show him being involved in any manner.
There has not been an official statement regarding Kane's status. We wish him well and hope justice is served in a timely manner for this horrific act committed.
