The Edmonton Oilers have been red-hot in recent times, and with the trade deadline approaching, it appears they're looking to bolster their roster in an effort to chase the ultimate prize; the Stanley Cup.

Could the Edmonton Oilers look to move Connor Brown?

The Oilers are reportedly looking into several names at every position over the next few weeks, but according to one NHL insider, there's one big move this team needs to make.
"Frankly, the first $800k that get's traded off this roster, it might turn out to be Connor Brown."
On the latest episode of the Jason Gregor show, we saw the suggestion that the Edmonton Oilers could look to move on from Connor Brown, and it makes perfect sense after the season he's had.

A disappointing off-season pickup

Despite being given plenty of opportunities in the top-six, Brown has been a huge disappointment, tallying no goals and just 4 points in 42 games played in 2023-24.
Now, moving him would still see the Oilers on the hook for a significant bonus that he's due next season (another mistake made by the front office), but if the Oilers can move him and open up a spot in the lineup for a big time acquisition, it's definitely the move that they need to make.
