Don Cherry causes controversy with new holiday post on social media

Today's Christmas holiday has brought many hockey community members out to share a peek into their holiday lives.

Most of the posts are general happy holidays or Merry Christmas type posts from players, coaches, and media.

However former Hockey Night In Canada analyst Don Cherry has caused some controversy with his post on X celebrating the holidays.

In his post, Cherry references "you people" when addressing his fan base and the hockey community.

Of course, this is the controversial phrasing that got Cherry in trouble and ultimately fired from Hockey Night In Canada over his comments on the wearing of a poppy.

Now over 5 years later Cherry is still fighting the same fight and not backing down as his fan base and community continue to support him and his statement.

The post has now caused controversy with many fans still supporting him and others calling him out for his continued lack of remorse for those he hurt.

Cherry of course has faced this type of polarizing reaction for years since being fired from Hockey Night In Canada and having a falling out with co-host Ron MacLean.

Regardless, Cherry seems to have moved on in life hosting his own podcast and having his voice be heard on all things hockey despite not working for a network broadcast.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Cherry but one thing remains certain whether you love or hate him he is still going to stay in the public eye.
