NHL Gives Their Final Ruling On The Borderline Hit From Matt Rempe

Matt Rempe has been known for his physical and sometimes reckless game in his short time in the NHL. Last night was a perfect example of both of these qualities in Rempe. On a forecheck midway through the game, Rempe delivered a crushing hit to Ilya Lyubushkin.

As a result of the hit Lyubushkin was forced to miss the rest of the night with an injury. In the following hours fans and media called for Rempe to be punished with either a fine or suspension. This afternoon the NHL has spoken on their plan of action in this regard.

With no suspension coming a debate has begun about the severity of Rempe's actions. The debate has shifted to what would Rempe have to do for the league to punish him. Hopefully for the safety of the players we never reach a scenario where we answer that question.
