A star for the New York Rangers encountered a terrifying moment tonight in the late stages of the Stadium Series game.

Rangers Star Defenseman Leaves Stadium Series Game Via Ambulance

The Stadium Series was once again the center of the NHL world today. The Rangers and Islanders went to battle in one of the most epic outdoor games in recent memory. Lost in the excitement was a scary incident that took place.
Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren suffered an injury on a play that led to an Islanders goal.
After the Islanders' celebration, Lindgren was helped off the ice and not seen again. After the game, it was revealed that Lindgren was forced to head to an ambulance to be treated.
Just watched Ryan Lindgren get escorted on golf cart to an ambulance. He was able to walk on his own, face with many visible stitches, eyes completely swollen. #NYR
With this situation it is unclear if Lindgren was taken to a hospital or treated on site. Hopefully Lindgren is doing okay and will be back on the ice again soon.
