Tonight a Florida Panthers fan's worst nightmare has come to fruition as one of the team's top stars has suffered an injury.

The Florida Panthers are in Carolina tonight for a divisional matchup against the Hurricanes. In the first period of the game Florida Panther star forward Matthew Tkachuk went into the corner for a puck. While in the corner he was blown up by a hit from Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov.
Matthew Tkachuk did not come out to start the 2nd period
Since being injured Tkachuk has not returned. According to Elliotte Friedman both he and Tkachuk will remain out for the rest of the night.
Tkachuk and Gustav Forsling hurt tonight and will not return for FLA
