The rumour of a possible trade of Pierre-Luc Dubois between the Winnipeg Jets and the Montreal Canadiens is causing a lot of talk in the NHL.

Murat Ates, a veteran journalist who closely follows the Jets' news and has a strong relationship with the organization, recently shed some light on the matter by revealing the Jets' demands for their star player.
According to information gathered by Murat Ates, Jets general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff demanded that the Canadiens trade their young prodigy Nick Suzuki for Pierre-Luc Dubois!
Still according to Ates, Kirby Dach could represent an interesting alternative for both teams.
"Dubois was adamant that he did not go to the 2022 Draft in Montreal expecting to be traded to the Canadiens.

That may be true, but it doesn't change Montreal's interest in the player, the player's interest in Montreal, and the fact that the Jets and Canadiens discussed trading on several occasions last summer.

One version of the discussion I heard indicated that Winnipeg was interested in Nick Suzuki, which was not acceptable to Montreal, while the Canadiens tried to put together a package that included Christian Dvorak, Josh Anderson and a first round pick.

I think a trade involving Kirby Dach and prospects could be a way for the teams to work out a compromise."
