We now know who the Sharks are selecting at 4th Overall.
We all know the top 5 for the upcoming draft: Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, Matvei Michkov and Will Smith. If there are no surprises, these five forwards should be selected first on June 28, in any order.
We also know about Kent Hughes' infatuation with Will Smith. The Habs GM has been vocal about how impressed he is with the young man, his maturity and his player profile. He even texted his parents to tell them.
The Sharks seemed very interested in Matvei Michkov, but in a twist of fate, it looks like their choice will be Will Smith.
This is according to Sheng Peng, who works in the Sharks' entourage.
Is this a game the Sharks are playing to entice Kent Hughes to ask them for the 4th pick in exchange for the 5th and compensation? To be continued...
