Steve Turcotte of Le Nouvelliste reported that Samuel Montembeault has accepted an invitation from Team Canada to participate in the World Hockey Championships as the team's number one goalie.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed, this opportunity would offer valuable experience to the 26-year-old goaltender, who could potentially obtain the same status next year in Montreal.
Montembeault has played 39 games this season, posting a 16-18-3 record with a 3.38 goals-against-average and .903 save percentage.
