Vincent Damphousse sends a clear message to Kent Hughes about Matvei Michkov
Vincent Damphousse has long been linked to the Habs, either as a vice-president or general manager. The RDS analyst doesn't seem to be ready for that kind of challenge yet, but it will come soon.
As a regular on the L'Antichambre show, Damphousse took the opportunity to send a clear message to Kent Hughes about prospect Matvei Michkov.
"The biggest risk with Michkov is not his contract, it's not taking him and him becoming a star." - Vincent Damphousse
The young Russian does have a contract in the KHL and even if he were to play another year overseas, he will definitely be quite a player in the years to come.
As for Kent Hughes, the GM has gotten used to listening to the advice he is given. For example, he never hesitated to consult Chantal Machabée and use her advice, when he could have looked down on her.
Will he do the same with Vincent Damphousse's words? Will Matvei Michkov still be available in the fifth spot? We'll find out on June 28 live from Nashville.
