Toronto Maple Leafs' catastrophic last-minute announcement
The Maple Leafs have just revealed some big bad news, as we learn that defenseman Jake Muzzin will officially miss the end of the season, as well as the playoffs.
"The Leafs officially announce that Jake Muzzin will miss the remainder of the regular season and the playoffs due to his cervical spine injury."
This is a huge piece of the defensive brigade that the Leafs will have to do without heading into the postseason. The organization remained positive, prior to this confirmation, about a possible return of the veteran in the coming months.
Muzzin has recorded one assist in four games this season. He has one more season left on his four-year, $22.5 million contract.
