The Conversation That Started The Xhekaj Fight Was Absolutely Hilarious

In a 6-2 win, we got to see Nick Suzuki's spectacular penalty shot, Juraj Slafkovsky's first career goal and his state-down of the Coyotes players afterwards, and finally, Arber Xhekaj's absolutely incredible fight against Zack Kassian.

If the first thought about this duel between Xhekaj and Kassian was "let's hope he doesn't get shaken up too much", the result was simply incredible. It was a complete and utter domination by Xhekaj, who only made short work of a tough guy like Kassian.

In fact, after the game, Xhekaj gave some juicy details about how that sequence went down. Sportsnet reporter Eric Engels asked him what was said that led to the two of them throwing down the gloves.

His answer was as magical as the outcome of the fight

It's amazing how this young defender is so fearless, even against the tough guys in the league. I have to say that this anecdote is absolutely epic.

After the fight, Kassian probably didn't understand anything about the train that just hit him, and the train was a lot more courteous.

This isn't meant to be an endorsement of fighting in the NHL, but it has to be said that the Habs' behemoth is a damn fine insurance policy for the team's future. In addition to building a solid reputation, the 21-year-old knows how to play hockey and will certainly be part of the Tricolore's defensive corps for many years to come.
