The Canadiens officially lose another Quebecer
When you're a fan of a sports team and a local lad plays in the organization, there's a certain sense of mutual pride.
It's true that in Montreal, the pressure is enormous on Quebec players, but when they perform, there's no better place. Unfortunately for others, their ceiling isn't high enough to play in the big league and they have to leave.
Such is the case for Joel Teasdale, who will be playing outside Quebec for the 1st time in his life.
"Unusual in the career of a professional athlete: this will be, at the age of 24, the first time Joel Teasdale will settle away from home to make a living from his sport." - Simon-Olivier Lorange
We were still hoping for a turnaround in this matter, but Kent Hughes has made his decision and Teasdale will not be returning to the organization.
"The Habs are my childhood team, so for sure I would have loved to have continued with them." - Teasdale
The Quebecer still got his first taste of the NHL in a blue-white-and-red uniform last year, a nice nod from Kent Hughes.
