The Canadiens Make a Promise to Nicolas Beaudin
The Canadiens were active this week, acquiring defenseman Nicolas Beaudin from Chicago.
The 23-year-old Quebecer didn't take too long to report to his new team, as he is already expected to potentially play tonight in a two-game series against the Rochester Americans.
In an interview on BPM Sports, Beaudin revealed what team general manager Kent Hughes told him during their meeting.
"They told me I've been on their radar for a long time, that I need to be patient and that at some point I'm going to get my chance." -Nicolas Beaudin
Incidentally, the former first-round pick in 2018 had also revealed that he has played mostly right-handed since the beginning of his professional career, despite being a left-handed defenseman.
This aspect of his game is quite interesting, especially since the right side of the defensive brigade is much weaker than the left side. He could fill a need in the event of an injury to Chris Wideman, Johnathan Kovacevic or David Savard.
