Sharks ready to help Canadiens and Kent Hughes

This year, the Sharks draft at #4 and the Habs at #5. That means Kent Hughes will have to wait and see who of the Big 5 will still be available.

Turn of events, as San Jose general manager Mike Grier is ready to trade his 4th overall pick. This is confirmed by The Athletic.

Imagine if Kent Hughes got his hands on that pick, while keeping the one at No. 5! Or even if he moves up one spot to select the player he covets most!

We agree, the price must be enormous. Hughes would have to give a lot to the Sharks' GM to complete such a transaction - it won't be a gift from heaven. However, if he's able to keep his core of players and prospects like Cole Caufield and Lane Hutson intact, it could pay off handsomely for the club's future.
