Rumour: Two teams leading the chase for Maple Leafs Star William Nylander
After the massive Auston Matthews extension, time may be up on William Nylander's tenure with the Maple Leafs, and according to a recent report, two teams are circling.
Fringe contenders
According to Eklund of Hockey Buzz, both the Minnesota Wild and New York Islanders hold immense interest in the 27-year old winger, and with talented rosters, he'd be a fantastic addition to either team.
It's not yet been made clear whether terms of a deal have been discussed, or how far those teams have gone in their pursuit, but this is significant, as the longer the discussions drag out around Nylander, the more likely a trade becomes.
Trade looming?
In their recent interviews, both Brad Treliving and Auston Matthews seemingly took shots at Nylander's laid back attitude towards the situation, and this could force their hand very soon.
