Report: Mikael Backlund to Test Free Agency
According to a report in his native Sweden Backlund is done in Calgary after this season.
Backlund Not Resigning in Calgary
Backlund 34 has spent his entire 14-year career with Flames collecting a total of 492 points in 908 games.
In a Swdish magazine VLT Backlund says it was a "different decision" not to re-sign with the team and that he took his time making his mind up.
The List of Players to Leave
With Backlund for sure leaving the Flames roster after this season he will be joining fellow teammates, Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreu and Tyler Toffoli all as players to leave within the calendar year.
It is also rumored that both Noah Hanafin and Elias Lindholm are both likely to leave the Flames roster by the end of the next season.
The whole Flames roster will be flipped in the matter of two seasons after a really good year two seasons ago.
