We know that Kent Hughes is looking to free up payroll at the moment. What's more, there are four goalkeepers and a solution will have to be found on that front.

We're beginning to get a better idea of the GM's intentions, as Samuel Montembeault and Jake Allen have reportedly received confirmation that they will be staying in Montreal.
In the last few hours, an article in the Journal de Montréal confirmed what we were thinking.
"A source on the Tricolore staff confirmed to Le Journal two weeks ago that another deal was expected to be announced in the days following the one that sent Petry home to Michigan. We're still waiting.

In fact, we have a good idea that it will involve DeSmith." - JdeM

So (probably) Casey DeSmith was on his way out last week, but it didn't materialize. Stay tuned, because something is brewing right now and a deal is imminent.
