Mock Trade that Sends Nylander to Calgary
William Nylander has been a lucrative name out there because he and the Maple Leafs are very far apart on a contract extension.

The 40-goal scorer finished 20th in the league in scoring and proved to be a superstar in the league.
This mock trade would send Nylander to his birth city Calgary with another Swede going back the other way.
The trade goes:
CALGARY Receives: William Nylander
TORONTO Receives: Elias Lindholm and a 2025 1st round pick

Why Each Team Accepts
For the Leafs they get a defensively sound center that has the ability to put up point per game. Although a down year from Lindholm last year with the Leafs Lindholm would likely turn it back around.
For the Flames they get a major shift in their team and Lindholm has made it clear he does not want to stay as a member of the Flames despite their best efforts.
Nylander would add another level of offence for the Flames after the departure of Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Tkachuk really affected their goal scoring.
The Flames would then have Nazem Kadri, William Nylander and Jonathan Huberdeau as their main offensive piece.
