Martin St-Louis reveals the exact reason why there are 74 players in camp
The fact that 74 players were invited to training camp is far from being unanimously approved by the Canadiens. Many questioned it and even said that the veterans would not be very happy, but it is rather the opposite effect that is happening now.
Indeed, the veterans are all very involved in the practices and in the intra-team games. We are getting to know many good young players and there could be some great in-house battles to come during the season.
Martin St-Louis likes to think that the hope given to his players gives them confidence in their abilities. After all, the Canadiens pilot has been there too:
