Martin St-Louis explains why he told the four prospects they were making the team as a group
As we reported earlier today, the Habs had a clear message for the four rookies that make the team, Arber Xhekaj, Kaiden Guhle, Jordan Harris and Juraj Slafkovsky.
It will now be important for them to continue their efforts, since they are on an ejector seat. In a press conference, Martin St-Louis explained why the four players were called together to hear the news:
« I think if we had told them one by one, they would have thought they were entrenched." - Martin St. Louis
This answer made the media on the spot laugh, but the coach made a point of saying afterwards that it is a great moment for them and to live it as a group has a more positive and unifying effect than learning it alone. He even compared it to a party, as it is better in group.
