Major development related to Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Habs, this is huge!
We just learned something very big!
Sportsnet's reputable informant, Elliotte Friedman, has just revealed a major piece of breaking news regarding Pierre-Luc Dubois and the Montreal Canadiens.
Here is what he just revealed during his most recent 32 Thoughts segment:
"The Jets have been talking to the Canadiens about Dubois, we know Dubois is going to end up there 95%. Is there a way to work out a deal where the Canadiens get him sooner rather than later and they get something interesting in return? They've discussed that."
Wow!
Friedman, who has multiple sources across the NHL, says it's 95% certain that the Quebecer will become a Tricolore player within the next two years.
He also says that the two teams have discussed numerous times to see if there was a way to make a deal for the CH to acquire his services earlier, possibly even here this summer, instead of having to wait until the summer of 2024, when the 24-year-old forward would become an uncompensated free agent.
Check out a summary from excellent contributor Marc-Olivier Beaudoin that sums up Friedman's comments quite well:
"Elliotte Friedman estimates a 95% chance that Pierre-Luc Dubois will be a member of the CH sooner or later.
He confirms that there have already been discussions between the two clubs in regards to a potential deal!" - Marc Olivier Beaudoin

It would be an incredible coup to speed up the rebuilding of the Habs, if Kent Hughes were to add a player of Dubois' caliber without necessarily touching the big pieces of the current club's roster, aside from players he wants to get rid of, obviously.
