Leafs Forward Michael Bunting Facing Suspension After A Terrible Hit On Lightning's Erik Cernak
The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that Michael Bunting, a forward for the Toronto Maple Leafs, will have a hearing regarding a dangerous hit he made on Erik Cernak of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The incident occurred during Game 1 of the Leafs and Lightning series on Tuesday when the Lightning were leading 7-3. Bunting delivered a hit to Cernak's head.
Lightning Take 1-0 Series Lead
As a result of the hit, Bunting was assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct for checking to the head. He now faces a suspension, and the question remains as to how many games he will be suspended for.
