Kent Hughes puts in a tremendous effort to secure the Ducks' second-round draft pick.
Earlier today, Radio-Canada's Alexandre Gascon reported that Kent Hughes was in talks with the Sharks for a possible 4th overall pick.
Now Arpon Basu has confirmed the news, and the journalist adds another layer:
"They're trying to make a trade with the Sharks for the #4 pick, but they've also contacted the Anaheim Ducks to inquire about acquiring the 2nd overall pick." - Arpon Basu
So Hughes seems determined to want a top-4 forward.
A little Canadiens offseason primer with some information gathered at the combine and elsewhere. His name is sadly missing here, but @MAGodin was a huge part of the reporting process: https://t.co/vEDYbl7dPf- Arpon Basu (@ArponBasu) June 14, 2023
Imagine if Adam Fantilli came to Montreal with the 2nd pick, or the Habs drafted Will Smith with the 4th. It would be quite a coup.
