Islanders Celebrate the Life of Retired Defenseman
This certainly isn't how many people want to start their morning, especially on Mother's Day, but we do have some unfortunate news for you all. Islanders legend Gerry Hart has passed away at the age of 75.
Islanders Pay Their Respects to Hart
The news was first reported by the Islanders Twitter account late last night, as the fanbase slowly learned of Hart's passing. The fiery defenseman was never held back by his size, despite standing at just 5'9»!
While he also made stops in Quebec, Detroit, and St. Louis, Hart is best known for his years as an Islander, where he was a member of their inaugural team. Truly a spectacular career, and one that should be celebrated!
