If the Habs have a candidate for the Calder Trophy, it won't necessarily be Juraj Slafkovsky
We were able to discover several new youngsters in the Habs' fold last year. With all the changes in the lineup, injuries and trades, it couldn't be any other way.
This year, we will have the chance to see many young players in action. In this regard, prospect expert Scott Wheeler of The Athletic has put together a list of who has the best chance of winning the Calder Trophy this season.
Juraj Slafkovsky is not the only rookie on the list. Kaiden Guhle, Justin Barron and Jordan Harris are also on the list.
Owen Power is at the top of Wheeler's list, but if you're thinking about the Habs, don't overlook the name Kaiden Guhle. The 20 year old defenseman could be a surprise NHL rookie, coming off a full season in the WHL. He has the physicality for the job and more maturity than other rookies for the upcoming season.
