Gaston Therrien Makes the Overstatement of the Year on l'Antichambre
The Canadiens' goaltenders are no strangers to success right now, as the tandem of Jake Allen and Samuel Montembeault has been nothing short of exceptional since the start of the season.
Their performances so far are far above what we expected before the season started.
On this subject, a bombshell was dropped yesterday on the RDS show "L'Antichambre", when the colorful Gaston Therrien, who is known for his questionable statements, mentioned on air that according to him, the best goaltending duo in the NHL is in Montreal.
You're not dreaming, Gaston stated that the Habs have the best duo in the entire league right now!
The consensus is that the Habs don't even have a true first baseman. Allen was technically the backup goalie to Carey Price and Montembeault would have been the organization's third goalie.
But for our dear Gaston, they are the best duo in the NHL.
Pretty hilarious statement coming from a hockey analyst.
