The Florida Panthers announced today that they have reached an agreement with veteran center Eric Staal on a one-season contract. The deal will pay him $750,000.

The 37-year-old forward had attended Panthers camp with a professional tryout, but had yet to officially sign a new contract.
After a year without playing in the NHL, following his appearance in the Stanley Cup Final with the Canadiens in 2021, he will be back in the same lineup as his brother Mark.
