The Toronto Maple Leafs recently revealed that their promising rookie, Matthew Knies, has been diagnosed with a concussion following a dangerous play on the ice.

Surprisingly, Sam Bennett, the player responsible for the injurious hit, will not face any disciplinary action for his reckless actions towards the Leafs' newcomer.
Adding fuel to the fire, a former NHL official took to Twitter to throw some shade at the Leafs' fanbase.

Tim Peel didn't hold back when expressing his opinions on the Knies and Bennett situation via Twitter.
"I just think if the jerseys were reversed this play wouldn't garner any attention" - Tim Peel

Given the impact on Knies' health, Peel's remarks are quite audacious, even for someone with his reputation.
Many believe that the Department of Player Safety should take action in this case, but it appears they won't. The question of legality should be secondary to the well-being of the player who was seriously injured in the incident.
