The Edmonton Oilers have seemingly turned their season around in the last week after rattling off three straight wins, and now they have a veteran to return to the lineup, but it will cost them.

Veteran forward Connor Brown to return to the Oilers lineup

After being out injured for a time, veteran Forward Connor Brown is on the verge of a return to the Oilers lineup in a much needed boost.

This will be a major boost to the top-six that's seen the return of Connor McDavid recently, as well as a hot streak from Evander Kane, so getting Brown back into the mix can only serve as a major positive.

He will return to the lineup tomorrow.

He was playing quite well the five games prior to tweaking his groin, and he needs to get back to that level right away.

The return comes at a major cost to the Oilers

The Oilers next game will mark Brown's 10th as an Oiler, and with that will be a major bonus for Brown, who is set to receive a $3.225 million bonus when he skates in his 10th game with the team, per his contract signed this summer.

Connor Brown will play his 10th game for the Oilers tomorrow. This means his $3.225M performance bonus will kick in and count against EDM's cap next season.

This counts against Edmonton's salary cap next season, so they still have room to make an addition this season, and while Brown has yet to record a point in nine games, if the rest of the offence around him is rolling, he should definitely be able to turn that around when he returns.
