Coyotes Future Appears to be in Jeopardy Following the City Dispute
The Arizona Coyotes have recently faced another major setback in their plans to move their arena to Tempe. This setback has raised more questions on the future of the franchise.
Coyotes Future is Uncertain
The City of Phoenix has filed a lawsuit against the city of Tempe over their plans to build a new arena.
According to a report from 12News Arizona, the lawsuit pertains to the fact that the proposed location of the arena is too close to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. This would breach an agreement between the two cities that was created to reduce the level of noise related to traffic that the nearby city of Tempe would bring.
Both sides are dedicated to reaching an agreement that would work for both sides. The two sides are working together to work on a plan would work for both parties.
The lawsuit does not name the Coyotes, or anyone involved in the ownership of the Coyotes. The team is set on moving to the Tempe area in the next couple of years, with a public vote concerning the arena that will be held on the 16th of May.
