During the last game between the Canadiens and the Colorado Avalanche, a controversial fight broke out between the tough Michael Pezzetta and the young defenseman Bowen Byram.

The CH's number 55 drew fire on social networks, since Byram is not a fighter and has a long history of concussions, which led him to seriously consider retiring prematurely last year.
Pezzetta was heavily criticized for his action, but we must point out that he seemed to hold back during this fight, in order not to hit his opponent too hard. It ended up being a wrestling match rather than a punching war.
In connection with this situation that has caused a lot of negative talk, journalist Marc-Andre Perreault of TVA Sports reported the explanations of the Canadiens' forward on what happened Monday night.
I made the jump. We were bickering a little bit and then at one point he cross checked me and then I realized that it was him. Me, the last thing I wanted was for a guy like me to hurt a star player on the other side." - Michael Pezzetta

With a gesture that shows great maturity on his part, Pezzetta made sure to apologize after the game.
"He went to Artturi Lehkonen after the game to tell him to send the message that he was apologizing to the kid and that it wasn't his goal to fight a quality player and it happened quickly." - Marc-Andre Perreault

It was a classy move on his part to have the humility to acknowledge that he made a mistake after the game.
