Connor McDavid's Teammates Reveal What He Said Following Playoff Elimination
This season brought great expectations upon the Edmonton Oilers. Possesing two of the best players in the league in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, winning the Stanley Cup was a realistic goal.
But it wasn't meant to be and the Oilers lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in six games in the second round. This marked the second straight year the Oilers lost to the eventual Stanley Cup champions.
McDavid's Inspirational Speech
According to an unnamed Oilers player, Captain Connor McDavid made a rousing speech after their game six loss.
This Oiler player told NHL.com that he felt ready "to run through a wall for the guy" following McDavid's speech.
Oilers Future
Next year is a huge year for the Oilers, as many feel that the Western Conference will continue to be wide-open. The Oilers were not far off of the Golden Knights during their series, and many felt the tide was turned in Vegas' favor after Alex Pietrangelo delivered a hard slash to Draisaitl in game four.
Draisaitl, who had been on a historic playoff pace, was never the same.
With McDavid and Draisaitl in their transcendent primes, the time is now for the Oilers to win these two future Hall-Of-Famers their Stanley Cup.
