A former Edmonton Oilers' prospect has decided to end his hockey career.

This is sad news because Yakimov had to stop playing due to an unfortunate injury at the age of 28.
Yakimov was drafted by the Oilers in 2013. He played for two seasons in the Oilers' organization, mostly in the AHL.
During that time, Yakimov had the opportunity to play one game in the NHL.
In the last season, Yakimov played in the KHL. Unfortunately, an injury interrupted his season and forced him to retire early.
