The OHL has officially handed a two-game suspension to a Saginaw Spirit player, following an incident where he spat on two opponents during a game.

You read well. In a game against the Kingston Frontenacs, Zayne Parekh spat on Quinton Burns and Luke McNamara, his former teammate.


This controversial action led to Parekh receiving a game misconduct penalty and now, the OHL announced a two-game suspension for Parekh.

#OHL Disciplinary Action: Saginaw's Zayne Parekh has been suspended for two games as a result of actions on Jan. 21st at Kingston.


People are criticizing the League's decision to suspend him only for two games. Indeed, in the past, players have suffered greater consequences for spitting on opponents.

It is believed that Parekh got a special treatment, as he's considered a top-15 prospect in the NHL.
