BREAKING: Predators Complete Huge Trade With Avalanche
The Nashville Predators and the Colorado Avalanche have kicked off this off-season with a massive trade.
Jonhansen To Colorado
Colorado has acquired forward Ryan Johansen from Nashville in exchange for the signing rights to pending UFA Alex Galchenyuk.
Johansen has two more years left on his current contract, which pays him $8 million annually. Nashville will be retaining 50% of that.
While Johansen may not be the player he once was, he's quite valuable to Colorado at just $4 million a year.
Nashville must be confident that they can re-sign Galchenyuk, or else this trade would essentially be giving away Johansen for free while retaining money on him.
