A new "Big Three" for the Habs with Logan Mailloux as the headliner?
In the 70s, the Canadiens won six Stanley Cups. It was a great offense, but also a great defense with the "Big Three".
Larry Robinson, Guy Lapointe and Serge Savard were the rainmakers of the NHL, so much so that they earned the nickname we all know today.
Are the Habs about to see another "Big Three"? Indeed, that's what former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg has dubbed the Habs' next generation.
"Montreal's new 'Big Three' stood out from the other 27 top prospects. Could Mailloux, Reinbacher and Hutson one day become Montreal's best defensive trio since Robinson, Savard and Lapointe?"

Montreal's New Big Three have set themselves apart from the 27 other top prospects (top five shown below). Can Mailloux, Reinbacher and Hutson one day be Montreal's top defence trio since Robinson, Savard and Lapointe? We all know the talent of Lane Hutson, who was a real steal in Round 2. Logan Mailloux sits atop the top 3 prospects, followed by David Reinbacher.
They say defense wins championships. In any good defense, there's also a good offence. With two pairs made up of one solid offensive defenseman and one solid defensive defenseman (Guhle and Mailloux, Hutson and Reinbacher), the Canadiens' future on the blue line looks very bright.
McCagg mentions possibly the best Big Three since Robinson, Savard and Lapointe in his ranking of the CH's top prospects → https://t.co/ifzJq41rbU- DansLesCoulisses (@DLCoulisses) July 27, 2023
