2023 Stanley Cup Finals Hit All-Time Low Viewership.
As we reported last week, the 2023 Stanley Cup Series has reached record viewing figures, much to Gary Bettman's delight.
However, the pleasure was short-lived, as the final series was a completely different story, and even worse for the final game, which took place on Tuesday night in Vegas.
The numbers don't lie.
"The majority of hockey fans didn't watch Vegas win.
The last game of the season was the least watched since they started tracking viewer data (since at least 1980).
For the series as a whole, views dropped by a record 43% between last year's finale and this year, from an average of 4.3 million viewers to 2.6.
The series was unable to surpass the "bubble" finale in 2020, between Dallas and Tampa Bay, which had set a benchmark for poor statistics.
With an average of 2.47 million viewers, it was not only the least-watched Cup ever, it was also the lowest Game 5 seen in 30 years." - NHL Breakers, via Instagram

That's pretty disturbing, and goes right along with what we were talking about before the Finals, when Florida was focused on the NBA Finals.
A slap in the Commissioner's face, no doubt.
