Controversy surrounds Matthew Tkachuk after horrible dirty play

On Tuesday night, the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers fought for the first spot in the Atlantic Division. Boston ended up winning 4-3 in an intense matchup that saw Matthew Tkachuk making one of the dirtiest move we've seen this season.

Florida Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk is known to play a physical and agressive game, but it reached a whole new level against the Bruins. He made one of the most controversial play of the season so far.

During the first period, he fell on the ice and slid towards Bruins' Parker Wotherspoon, skates first. He looked at him before raising his skate, in what looks like a serious attempt to injure.

Considering that injuries from skate-related incident has been widely discussed this season, and preventive measures were taken by Leagues all over the world, it's disgusting to see one of the best players in the NHL do such a thing.

Things often get more physical during crucial games like this one. However, it's not a reason to play with the intention of hurting the oppoent. Tkachuk may not have had these intentions, but without an explanation from him, it's hard to see that he wanted to avoid the contact.
