Following the Canucks loss to the Jets, head coach Adam Foote revealed that Thatcher Demko has suffered a lower-body injury and will be evaluated on Wednesday.

Making his first start in just over a week, Thatcher Demko's night unfortunately ended early on Tuesday.
The Vancouver Canucks goaltender played in just the first period against the Winnipeg Jets but was ruled out and subsequently replaced by backup Kevin Lankinen to start the second.
Demko allowed three goals on only eight shots, including two in just 15 seconds, and was seen stretching his lower body in the crease halfway through the opening 20 minutes.

What Thatcher Demko is currently dealing with

After the game, which was a 5-3 loss for the Canucks, head coach Adam Foote said Demko had indeed suffered a lower-body injury and that the team would learn more on Wednesday.
"It's lower body, we will find out tomorrow."

The 29-year-old last suited up on Nov. 3, a 5-4 overtime win against the Nashville Predators, before missing three games for undisclosed reasons.
Foote said on Friday that Demko was "taking care of himself" due to the season's condensed schedule, with the upcoming Winter Olympics, but did not indicate whether he was dealing with an injury.
Following Tuesday's game, Foote added that he believed that Demko was initially ready to play against the Jets and that this injury is totally unrelated to the maintenance he had over the weekend.

Why Thatcher Demko's potential long-term absence could hurt the Canucks

Demko entered Vancouver's matchup against Winnipeg with a 5-4-0 record, a .912 save percentage, and a 2.57 goals-against average this season, and he was a key component to the Canucks collecting early-season points.
Demko missed a lot of last season with a knee injury, playing in just 23 games and posting a 10-8-3 record with a .889 save percentage and a 2.90 goals-against average.
