Adam Lowry underwent off-season surgery, and now, the Winnipeg Jets captain has taken one step closer to an official return in 2025/26.

The Winnipeg Jets are off to a solid start this season, with the team going 3-1-0 through four games as they look to recapture the form that made them the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference last season.
They've done this while dealing with some injury issues early in the year given the fantastic depth that they've managed to build up at every position, and now, the latest update has revealed a very positive sign for injured Jets captain Adam Lowry.

Lowry returns to the Jets; takes major step forward in injury recovery

This off-season, captain Adam Lowry underwent surgery after the team were eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs, with the expected recovery time being between five and six months.
Now, according to Mike McIntyre, he's taken a major step towards a return, as he has officially returned to practice with the team, however he is wearing a yellow, non-contact jersey, revealing that he's still got some time to go before an official return to game action.
Without Lowry, the team have turned to Vlad Namestnikov and Jonathan Toews down the middle, but once Lowry returns, this team may have one of the deepest forward groups in the entire National Hockey League.
Last season, Lowry posted 16 goals and 34 points in 73 games while providing immense leadership for this team, and with his return on the horizon, optimism grows in Winnipeg as this team can once again solidify themselves as a top contender when healthy.
